Bob Coman

Director of Golf

Bob was born in Rhode Island, raised in Connecticut, and graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. He enjoyed much success as an amateur golfer prior to becoming a Golf Professional in 1985. Bob started his PGA Golf Professional career as an Assistant at Plainfield Country Club, Plainfield, New Jersey. After two summers in New Jersey, he moved to Southeast Florida and became the Head Golf Professional at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens. In 1995, he was recruited to be the Director of Golf at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. In 2005, Bob returned to PGA National as the Director of Golf and was instrumental in securing PGA National as the host site for the PGA Tour’s Honda Classic. After the sale of PGA National, Bob moved on to be the Director of Golf at The Fairmont Turnberry Isle in 2008. Following 28 years of consistent high performance and growth, Bob was selected to be the Director of Golf at The Biltmore in 2013.

Throughout his PGA Golf Professional career, Bob has been recognized by his peers for his accomplishments, including the following awards: Golf Inc. Magazine’s Most Admired Golf Operator in America; South Florida PGA Section and Chapter Golf Professional of the Year; South Florida PGA Section and Chapter Merchandiser of the Year. In addition, Bob served the PGA Section and Chapter as an elected Officer and member of the Board of Directors from 1993 – 2002.

Bob and his wife, Kim, have been married since 1987. They have three children (Katherine, Kristina and Robert), and one granddaughter (Madison).

Lara Pavloff

Head Golf Professional, Tournament Director

Lara earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She grew up playing golf with her Dad, Mike Pavloff at the Oxford Country Club where her house was located on the second hole fairway.

Lara began her golf career in Northern Michigan as an Assistant Golf Professional at The Leelanau Club in Suttons Bay, Michigan. She took her first golf job in Florida as an Assistant Pro at Doral Golf Resort and Spa before accepting a position at The Biltmore.

Lara started as an Assistant Golf Professional and was able to work her way to Head Golf Professional and Tournament Director. Throughout her time at the Biltmore she has been steadily working through the PGA of America’s apprentice program. She is now a Class A member of the PGA of America. Lara is also a Titleist Performance Institute certified golf professional.

Renee Trudeau O’Higgins

Biltmore Golf Academy Instructor, Golf Digest's Best Young Teachers In America 2016-'17

Renée is Class A PGA and LPGA teaching professional. Also, a TPI golf fitness and junior golf certified instructor. Renee has won many awards for teaching. She has been named a Top 50 golf instructor from the GRAA in 2013, 2014, and 2015. In 2015, she won the South Florida PGA Southern Chapter Award for Growth of the Game. And, just recently, has been picked as a 2016-17 Golf Digest “Best Young Teacher in America,” a very prestigious recognition. In August of 2014, Renée broke the women’s course record at the Biltmore Hotel, shooting 64.

Born and raised in Lake Tahoe, California, Renée came to Miami to play college golf at Barry University. She graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology and a minor in business. She began her career at La Gorce Country Club. After 4 years, she took a job at the Golf Academy at Old Greenwood where she worked under, top 100 instructor, Keith Lyford, and spent winters as the teaching professional at Riviera Country Club. In 2011, Renée started working full time at the Biltmore Hotel.

Renée has spent time with many notable teachers working on her own game. She often attends conferences, seminars, and workshops for continued education. She enjoys teaching men, women, and juniors of all ability levels. She also regularly organizes ladies and couples golf trips around the world. Her favorite activity of all: spending time with her husband, Colin and her young son, Colin Matias.

Sebastian Camillo

Biltmore Golf Academy Instructor

Sebastian is a Class A PGA Professional from Gainesville Florida, and has been with the Biltmore since 1997.

Prior to joining our team Sebastian had an extensive junior, collegiate, amature and professional playing resume, both in the USA and Europe professionally. One of Sebastian's primary mentors was Phil Ritson one of Golf Digest's 50 Greatest Teachers 2000, Golf Magizine's Top 50 and 100 teachers in the United States.

Sebastian also worked closely with PGA Tour Champion and Champion Tour Winner Tom Jenkins for several years. He has received training using both video and motion analysis to help his students understand and learn more efficiently.

He has taught over 10,000 golf lessons at The Biltmore, working with both adults and juniors of all ages and skill levels.

Gayle Leslie

Biltmore Golf Academy Instructor, Teacher of the Year for the southern chapter of the South Florida PGA

A PGA Teaching Professional from Indiana, Gayle has been a full time golf instructor at the Biltmore Golf Course since 2008.

As a graduate of the Professional Golf Management program at Ferris State University, Gayle had the opportunity to intern with Golf Digest Top 100 golf instructors Adam Schriber at the Roaring Fork Club in Basalt, Co. and Eden Foster at Calusa Pines Golf Club in Naples, FL.

Before joining the Biltmore instructional team, Gayle taught for GolfTEC Miami where he received specialized training on how to use video and motion analysis to help accelerate the learning curve of his students. Gayle has taught over 5,000 lessons in Miami with students ranging from professional athletes to complete beginners.

Armando Echeverria

Junior Program Director

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Armando’s childhood and athletic background has afforded him the chance to take a slightly unconventional route to becoming a Titleist Performance Institute certified golf professional.

He has worked alongside Justin Bruton and Total Performance Golf since its inception. He has also worked at GolfTEC where he was able to analyze over 1,900 lessons and maintain an 80% retention ratio for two consecutive years. His experience with the Titleist Performance Institute has helped him solidify the fact that athletic ability and development is one of the true fundamentals of golf.

An expert in junior development, Armando leads our junior program which focuses on the Total Performance Golf athletic development program.. He has been a golf professional at the Biltmore since 2001 and been a TPI Certified instructor since 2007 obtaining the highest level of TPI certifications in Junior Development, Biomechanics and Golf Instruction.
